THE PANIC CHANNEL Prepare To Master Debut Album
February 2, 2006THE PANIC CHANNEL, the new band featuring three quarters of the most recent lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION (guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney) and former SKYCYCLE vocalist Steve Isaacs, are preparing to master their debut album, tentatively due late spring via Capitol Records.
Commented Navarro: "I've been working on the record and getting ready for New York next week where we will do our mastering for the finished album. I honestly couldn't be happier with it. At the last minute, I talked everyone into retracking 'Blue Bruises'. The mix we had just wasn't up to the sonic level of the rest of the record. We went into the studio and recorded it from scratch and I can tell you that I am very happy we did. It sounds like us now. All that remains is one guitar fix and a few fine-toothed-comb listen-throughs and we should be mixing it by Saturday. We now find ourselves in the position of having too much material for the record and needing to decide what stays and what goes by mastering as well as sequencing which is an art unto itself. I know that this record seems like it has taken forever, and in some ways it feels like it has, but I really feel that we needed to go through this process and become a band by taking our time, building personal and musical relationships, dealing with dramas coming out the other side."
THE PANIC CHANNEL's debut CD was produced by Josh Abraham, whose resume includes such multi-platinum artists as KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. Mixing duties were handled by Ryan Williams, who has previously worked with veteran producer Brendan O'Brien. Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "She Won"t Last", "Awake", "Go On", "Loophole", "Bloody Mary", "Said You"d Be", "Why Cry" and "Outsider".
